Danbe Dental is a specialist practice at 500 Piermont Road in Closter, New Jersey. We are specialists in pediatric and adult restorative dentistry. We believe that your family deserves the best, and that is why we provide your family with specialty care for life.
Dental needs change across a lifetime. A child's first visit, an adult's everyday care and the reconstructive work that restores a mouth are different jobs, and here each of them is handled by a specialist in the same office, with our dental laboratory in the same building.
Childhood
Pediatric dentists are dedicated to the oral health of children from infancy through the teen years, and have the experience and qualifications to care for a child's teeth, gums and mouth throughout the various stages of childhood. Children begin to get their baby teeth during the first 6 months of life and start to lose that first set by age 6 or 7, when permanent teeth replace them. Without proper dental care, children face possible oral decay and disease that can cause a lifetime of pain and complications.
Children are not always able to be patient and cooperative during a dental exam. Pediatric dentists know how to examine and treat children in ways that make them comfortable, using equipment designed with children in mind. A pediatric dentist completes at least four years of dental school and two additional years of residency training in dentistry for infants, children, teens and children with special needs. Adult general and cosmetic care
Adults come to Danbe Dental for everyday care and for the cosmetic work that follows from it. The practice offers cosmetic dentistry, including porcelain veneers, tooth whitening and bonding, along with periodontal treatment and oral surgery.
Regular examination and cleaning is what keeps specialist treatment rare. When specialist treatment is needed, it is carried out in the same office by the same team, which is the whole point of a practice built this way.
Specialty care for adults
Prosthodontics is the American Dental Association recognized specialty dedicated to esthetic, reconstructive and implant dentistry, and prosthodontists comprise an elite group of highly trained restorative dentists: only 4,000 out of the 150,000 or more dentists in the country are prosthodontists. After receiving a DMD or DDS degree from a standard four year dental school, a prosthodontist completes an additional three year, full time post doctoral program. That rigorous residency imparts the in depth knowledge and clinical skills required to support the finest quality restorative practice. Prosthodontists are considered experts in diagnosis and treatment planning, dental esthetics, prosthesis design, occlusion and dental material science, and they work closely with dental technologists and laboratories, which brings highly specialized restorative skill to a whole patient approach. An endodontist is a dentist who has spent an additional two to three years beyond dental school focusing on root canal treatment, and less than 3% of all dentists are endodontists. That training focuses on diagnosing tooth pain and performing root canal treatment. The average endodontist completes 25 root canal treatments a week, while general dentists do about 2. Because they limit their practice solely to endodontic treatment, endodontists are efficient and precise, and are able to complete root canal treatment in less time, usually one short visit, rather than the multiple long visits general dentists require, which equates to a better experience and faster healing. The laboratory in our own building
K.B. Dental Laboratory has been associated with the office since 1979. Because of this unique dual facility and the close relationship with Mr. Kerry Behr, we are able to provide speed and, above all, the highest quality on all of our crowns, bridges, dentures, implants and complicated cases. The doctors follow the laboratory work step by step, with direct contact with the lab on a daily basis.
For cosmetic and aesthetic cases Mr. Behr, a Certified Dental Technician (CDT) and Master Dental Technologist (MDT), may work chair side with the doctors to custom color match and shape crowns and veneers. More about the dental laboratory.

Comfort during treatment
To maximize the comfort level during dental treatment we provide, when requested, nitrous oxide sedation (sweet air), music with headphones and, most importantly, personal chair side attention by our caring staff.
Sterilization and infection control
We are a dedicated dental team, and as such we are concerned about protecting patients from the infectious diseases prevalent in the world around us. We are constantly evaluating and updating our procedures, which comply with those recommended by the ADA and OSHA. We monitor our chemclaves on a monthly basis with biological indicator tests, and the use of gloves, masks, protective eyewear and disposable wraps are only some of the more visible steps that are taken to ensure your safety.

Video imaging
The intra oral camera is a high powered resolution imaging system that projects an image from inside the mouth to a monitor. It serves as an extremely helpful tool for the patient in understanding their treatment options.
Xrays
Xrays are taken only when necessary, to determine cavities, periodontal disease and dental pathology. The dental panorex is the machine used to determine wisdom tooth impaction, any cysts or tumors of the jaw, as well as possible sinus infections and TMJ dysfunction.
